Last night I finally got my butt back in the kitchen (pictures to come). It has taken me several weeks to get motivated to do anything besides flop down on the couch after work/workout. Luckily, I had a pretty great motivating factor: Alex’s Birthday! Although he’ll probably kill me for posting something about it…
Facts About Alex:
- He’s a total toe head.
- He helps me with my tennis game and has been known on more than one occasion to let me win. “Great shot!” Shyeah right.
- He’s responsible for my car’s nickname, Bundy.
- He hates the heat just as much as I do.
- Karen is obsessed with him. She literally goes all Swimfan when he walks through the door.
I could name a million more things, but again, I’m sure he’ll be hacking into this account to take the post down soon enough. (Just kidding. Kind of.)
Anyway, the dessert I chose to make him this year (again, pictures to come) was a simple Heath bar cheesecake with a chocolate crust. I simply purchased a bag of Heath bar crumbles, a cheesecake mix and a pre-made pie crust. I followed the directions, adding my own special touch of instant coffee, and soon it was ready. I highly recommend taking a shortcut like this if you are tight on time. Trust me, it tastes just as good as a homemade cheesecake.
So let me just say a big Happy Birthday to Alex Millah. May you have many more happy Bailee-filled days.
